Our Current Project
The Bolgatanga Water Empowerment Project
The Bolgatanga Water Empowerment Project is a collaborative effort between the Ghanaian government and international partners, designed to revitalize the existing water infrastructure and ensure sustainable access to potable water for one of Ghana’s fastest-growing provincial cities. The initiative focuses on:
- Renewing Water Treatment Plants: Upgrading the existing water treatment facilities to enhance their efficiency and capacity to meet the growing demand for clean water.
- Building New Infrastructure: Constructing a new water treatment plant at the Tono Dam, which, along with the Vea Dam, serves as a crucial water source for the region. This expansion aims to extend clean water access to Bolgatanga, Navrongo, and their neighboring communities.
- Community Engagement and Education: Implementing community engagement programs to educate residents on water conservation, hygiene practices, and the importance of maintaining the new infrastructure to ensure its longevity and sustainability.
